I have been a member of WMBDC since 2006. I
was glad to find a place just for our special dogs, that would recognize
them and their accomplishments. Zoe is my first mixed-breed dog, and the
first dog I’ve trained. She got me hooked on dog training since it’s
just so much fun to watch what a great problem-solver she is, and how
much she enjoys earning her cookies. We compete in obedience, rally, and
agility, and attend classes and fun matches.
I also own a purebred Belgian Malinois, Trooper, a rehome from the
breeder, whose greatest joy in life, besides squeaky toys and snuggling,
is going for our daily walks through the neighborhood. Trooper also
competes in obedience, rally, and agility, and I’d like him to become a
therapy dog soon.
I live in Kirkland with my husband Craig. We also enjoy motor home trips
(with the dogs of course), cooking, and golf. |

I have been an active member of the WMBDC since 1992.
My beloved collie mix, Hannah, was the reason I got involved in this
club. Hannah earned a few titles, and always laid claim to a large part
of my heart - and still does, even though she is no longer with me.
My parents wouldn't let any of us have a dog when we were growing up, so
I didn't get my first dog until I was 18. I have had dogs ever since
then. I have had several mixed breeds, a Shetland Sheepdog, and I
currently have my second Rhodesian Ridgeback and a Greyhound.
I have been active in dog rescue since 1992, working with Dachshunds,
Brittanys, small mixes and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I am currently the
Northwest Regional Coordinator for Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc. and
am active with Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue and Greyhound Rescue.
In the past, I have been active in Obedience, Tracking and Herding. With
my current dogs, I am active in Conformation, Lure Coursing, Oval Track
Racing and Sprint Racing. I also intend to compete in Obedience and
Tracking, and possibly Agility.
I am married to Mark Pedersen; we have been married since March of 1998.
I work for The Boeing Company at the Everett plant, doing engine
inspections and using fiber optic scopes to perform inspections in
inaccessible areas and to retrieve foreign objects from jumbo jets. I
have worked for Boeing since January of 1985.
Of course, my main hobbies are competing, playing and spending time with
my dogs (my husband is a "dog widower"). I also like to cook, read, hike
and bird. And I like to drive my 1990 Mustang convertible on the rare
sunny warm days we get here in the Pacific Northwest, and I confess I
like to drag-race it - at least then I don't get any tickets!
Mark and I live in Lake Stevens in Snohomish County. |

I have been a member of the WMBDC since 2005
and a proponent of dog rescue and our Humane Societies all my life.
I compete with both of mixed breed rescue dogs in Agility, Competition
Obedience and Rally.
I got Wendell from Three River’s Rescue (via Petfinder.com). He is
possibly a small Belgian Malinois mix and is 9 years old.
Wally is from the Aussie Rescue Placement Helpline (ARPH) and is likely
an Aussie / Border Collie mix – he’s 2.
Besides MBDC events, we show in USDAA, NADAC, CPE, ASCA and UKC.
In 2008, Wendell took 2nd place at the NADAC Championships in the 16”
Skilled Veterans division. |

I have been
involved with the WMBDC since 1995. While I have also owned purebreds,
mixes have a special place in my heart, as these are the dogs that have
some of the hardest lives.
I have always felt strongly about this club, and feel that we can make a
great contribution- not only to the dog, but also to the owner- of a dog
that has 'issues'. When you own a purebred dog, there is always a
breed club to turn to for help, answers, or assistance. When you
own mixes, there are fewer options.
I am a strong believer that if our club
helps just one dog and owner have a better relationship-quite possibly
keeping the dog from being left alone in the back yard for its life or
released to a shelter, then we have accomplished a lot.
While I enjoy competing in performance
sports with my dogs, I also feel that spending quality FUN time is
important, too. I enjoy taking my dogs camping and just walking
them in the park.
I hope to see many new faces at our upcoming
events! |

Shortly after our first 16 years old Aussie Cattle Dog
mix named, Angel passed away from cancers in Jan, 2007, we were so
heartbroken and felt our house was empty without her.
On Feb 1, 2007, we adopted a cute 9 week old black and white Aussie
Cattle Dog mix male puppy at the Homeward Pets Shelter in Woodinville.
We named him, Sargent. We found out that Sargent was born on Nov 23,
2006. He's our pride and joy!
Sargent got his first Basic Obedience Certificate at 7 month old at 'The
Whole Pup' in Edmonds. He loves to catch Frisbee and tennis ball. Since
he was a very active little guy, we decided to take him to Sno-King
Agility Club to get agility trainings. Sargent is doing very well in
agility. We recently joined WMBDC and are now just learning what
involved in the Rally, etc. So we will look into taking some classes
involved that. And last we will also take up Flyball in which Sargent
will loves because he runs very fast.
Sargent is an Aussie Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler and Border Collie Mix. His
mother was a purebred Aussie Cattledog/Blue Heeler and his father was a
purebred black and white Border Collie. That's why Sargent is a very
handsome little guy with good markings to prove it. |

Jade is Dach mix, has her CGC, and we are a Delta Society pet partner
team.
We are also participants in the WSOTC exhibition team, going to
retirement homes, nursing homes, preschools,, etc putting on dog shows,
demonstrating obedience, doing tricks and visiting with the people of
the facility.
Cisco is a GSD mix, also has his CGC.
Both dogs are participating in agility classes and are starting to go to
events and we practice rally and obedience training as well.
They share the house with 2 cats that I trapped and socialized as feral
kittens over 12 years ago.
I
have had many dogs over the years. Prior to Jade and Cisco, I had mainly
German Shepherd dogs, a Malamute, and several unknown large mixed breed
dogs, all coming from shelters or rescue groups. |
