2004 Weight Pull All Star #14 AMBOR

 AKA: RAJA

Raja is a mixed breed of what? Not sure. She is about 27 inches tall, and 68 pounds. She can leap tall shrubs and run like the wind (for no apparent reason except the pure joy of it.) She is a 6 year old rescue and a true athlete.  Raja competes in several sports, like UKC agility, UKC and Mixed breed obedience, UKC weight pulling, Mixed Breed conformation, and the crazy sport of Flyball, by far her favorite.  Raja is also a Therapy  dog and has done some herding and tracking .

When I met her she was being treated for the Parvo virus, she was so active and full of life, I just had to give her a chance to live it fully and she does.  So I took over the vet bill and took her home. She has turned into the best companion dog for me.

Here is the low down on the letters of her name.

Raja's Brags

December 2005

This year she was invited to the All-star weight pull at the UKC premier in Michigan.

We went in at #14  and ended at #14, very consistent.  She also earned her FO title in the family Obedience class. In October of this year OLN showed the Premier on TV, Raja was shown not pull the weight in the weight pull event, she was also shown in the Family Obedience part running away to eat the left over kibble, then latter shown completing the kibble exercise. Later we were interviewed and some of that was used.

On Aug 18th 2005 at the Saanich Fairgrounds in Victoria Raja earned her FMX (10,000 points), she also got to be start dog for the 6th time in her fly ball career. She decided to show JCJ that she too can lose her brain and she broke free form my grip and jumped over the snow fencing (24 inch's high) and ran out the opened barn door to chase something white ( small dog, I was glad the horses were gone by then), all this happened when it was her turn to run to the box and get the ball.

October 23rd we earned 2 legs toward the Rally O title, and team Washington took 2nd place.

Raja did her sit stays( this is hard for her sometimes) we had not done obedience since the beginning of 2005.
October 29th Raja ran 4.90 seconds her fastest time yet.  they dogs run a total of 202 feet from start to finish.
November 12th we went with some friends down to Oregon to participate in a Dock Dogs fun match.  the winning club got the donate the earnings to the charity of their choice.
The water was murky, muddy and cold. Raja had not jumped form a dock before, so we practiced some before it was time to start the fun match.  Our 1st of 3 jump she whined and got down low, she pawed at the water, she took a bow with her front paws over the edge of the dock wagging her tail looking at our friend ears perked head tilted, looking to cute, but did not leap off the dock.

Wave 2 of 3 I sure she won't get wet, I brought sticks, food, bumpers, balls, I'm use my body as a jump she seems to know where the edge of the dock is and won't go over, I get help from an Oregon handler, she's tossing sticks tells me to nudge Raja at the right moment when she was so thinking about jumping in, nose dive off the end of the dock, she got her stick come on shore and ran some zoomies. Jump marked at 0.5 feet

Wave 3 0f 3 After helping of the dock I'll be lucky to get her past the ramp gate, we are on the dock, I'm acting silly, words of encouragement, the Oregon lady comes back with more twigs she tossing them Raja at the edge snapping at them, jumping up and grabbing them some were between twigs 10 and 11 raja falls/jumps off the dock. I'm so happy and laughing cause she feel off the dock, lots of praise more zoomies. She jumped 1.0 feet that time.

In the end I had fun Raja swam and Washington own the bounty by 1 foot, and I wasn't going to jump her the last 2 waves.
